With radiologists working in several locations and collaboration with colleagues becoming a necessity, cloud picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) are becoming increasingly important for radiologists. A new single-log cloud PACS application integrates an ultra-fast streaming engine, enabling access to large studies in seconds instead of minutes without losing image quality.

An increasing number of medical facilities are now implementing cloud solutions that are scalable, secure, and can cost-effectively archive large volumes of imaging data without the initial investment in hardware or software.

“Cloud PACS such as PaxeraUltima simplifies the image-sharing process by providing access to medical images from multiple disparate PACS, with a single log saving time and money,” said Dr. Shoura, founder of Paxeramed Corp. (Boston, MA, USA), a PACS developer. “PaxeraUltima can run as standalone solution, or hybrid with any existing PACS systems, benefiting any size facility by removing upfront software licensing fees, mitigating maintenance costs and providing enhanced security because more expertise can be put into securing the data centers.”

The thin-client solution offers complete diagnostic tools including interactive sophisticated visualization such as MIP/MPR to better analyze studies with large number of images, a customizable hanging protocol preference with multimonitor support and an advanced reporting tool with integrated SR templates.

The cloud model frees facilities from the cost of purchasing new hardware as the business grows and enables users to select from different cost-effective plans with complete system installation and configuration in less than 24 hours from activation.
