A completely automated echocardiography decision support tool recognizes and analyzes 2-dimensional (2-D) and Doppler echo images.

The Us2.ai (Singapore) Us2.v1 automated measurement software includes 2-D cardiac volumes in all four chambers of the heart, M-mode (e.g. tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion), spectral Doppler, including blood flow across all valves, both posterior wall (PW) and continuous wall (CW) measurements, and tissue Doppler. This covers the vast majority of standard measurements for adult transthoracic echocardiography, as recommended by the British and American societies of Echocardiography and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.

Us2.v1 also offers an automated clinical workflow solution for detection of pulmonary hypertension (PH), based on the guideline definition set by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) / European Respiratory Society (ERS). In addition, Us2.ai recently announced a partnership with EchoNous (Redmond, WA, USA), manufacturer of the ultra-portable, AI-guided, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) Kosmos, a handheld ultra-mobile tool offering diagnostic grade imaging with CW Doppler capability.

“Us2.v1 eliminates the manual workflows and lack of transparency from semi-automated, single measurement, black box AI approaches, creating a complete and fully automated patient report with editable annotations, conclusions, and comparisons to international reference guidelines,” said James Hare, CEO and co-founder of Us2.ai. “With this release, we’ve moved the field of AI beyond just a narrow feature for echocardiography, to a complete decision-support solution for cardiologists and primary care providers.”

Doppler ultrasound is diagnostic application that can detect moving cells or structures and measure their direction and speed of movement using the Doppler effect, which evaluates movement by measuring changes in frequency of the echoes reflected. In many instances, Doppler ultrasound has replaced x-ray angiography, as it permits real-time viewing of blood flow that cannot be obtained by other methods.
