Montage Healthcare Solutions has signed a letter of intent to purchase radiology's most popular Internet search engine.
Montage Healthcare Solutions (Philadelphia, PA, USA), a privately-held vendor of enterprise search and performance analytics in radiology, announced plans to purchase iVirtuoso, Inc., the owner of Yottalook, the widely popular, medical imaging search engine and exclusive search provider for the Radiological Society of North America's (RSNA; Oak Brook, IL, USA) website. The combined company gives users the ability to search and mine their own radiology and pathology report libraries as well as conduct analogous, external internet-based searches.
The announcement was made by Bill Boonn, MD, president, Montage Healthcare Solutions, Inc. "We are extremely pleased to bring the ease and power of Yottalook's free, external search capabilities together with Montage's ability to query both radiology and pathology information systems," noted Mr. Boonn.
Radiologists will be able to quickly and easily search for highly relevant results both within and outside of their organization, compare findings, and validate results for clinical decision support, education, radiology business management, and research.
"Yottalook users will see no change in their free, Internet search capabilities," noted Khan Siddiqui, MD, cofounder and former principal at iVirtuoso. The industry-specific search engine receives over three million page views per year and more than 13,000 unique visitors per month. Yottalook is internationally recognized and used to power internet-based searches for a variety of radiology organizations, including RSNA. "Merging with Montage is the natural, next step for Yottalook," commented Dr. Siddiqui.
"Montage is committed to keeping Yottalook a free and trusted source of radiology-focused internet search," added Curt Langlotz, MD PhD, principal, Montage.
