Siemens and Transcan Extend Mammography Alliance

The TS2000 screening system for breast cancer will be marketed exclusively outside the United States by Siemens Medical Engineering (Erlangen, Germany), and Siemens' market will be expanded from hospitals to include clinics, breast centers, and doctors' offices. These are the terms of a new agreement signed by Siemens and TransScan Medical, Inc. (Ramsey, NJ, USA), which developed the TS2000.

Based on the principle of electrical scanning, the TS2000 allows radiation-free, painless, real-time scanning of the breast. As a result of tissue-specific electrical transmission properties and software algorithms, the T-Scan technology has the potential to discriminate between malignant and benign lesions. TransScan is now working on adapting the TS 2000 for the detection of cancer in other Our extended partnership with TransScan Medical further reinforces Siemens' commitment to innovation in medical diagnostics, and to being the provider of choice for clinical solutions in women's health, stated Dr. Frank parts of the body, such as lymph nodes and skin.
