A conventional radiographic/fluoroscopic (RF) table system offers high image quality and a multitude of features that improve workflow and operator efficiencies.

The Shimadzu (Kyoto, Japan) FluoroSpeed X1 is multifunctional; alongside with general RF applications, such as chest, abdomen, or extremities imaging, it can also be used for upper gastrointestinal needs, modified swallows, and even joint injections. It comes equipped with a 43X43 cm dynamic digital X-Ray detector (FPD) in the table bucky, allowing it to be used for both fluoroscopy and radiographic exams. With an 80 cm aperture between table top and deck, the X1 is the wide enough to provide access for imaging patients in wheelchairs, yet it can fit in smaller rooms, where space is limited, if needed.

Other features include a static weight bearing load of 300 kilograms, and a 227 all motion bearing load, patient side table controls for the operator, an ambidextrous control handle for the imaging deck, along with fingertip access to automatically programmed radiography (APR) sets, image recording functions, and site-specific programmable function buttons. In addition, by adding a second X-Ray tube on an overhead rail, system functionality and the overall versatility of the radiographic imaging room can be increased exponentially.

“The X1 was designed and built from years of collecting user feedback specifically from and for the US marketplace and the result is a remarkable, user-friendly and highly effective RF system with exclusive features like a park anywhere imaging deck,” said Jim Mekker, product director for Shimadzu Medical Systems USA (Torrance, CA, USA). “Additionally, the X1 is built with Shimadzu's world renown durability and reliability. This system belongs in every X-Ray department nationwide.”
