A novel straight arm radiography system provides a low-cost solution for healthcare facilities in which space is at a premium.

The Aspenstate (Aspen; Plano, TX, USA) Aspen XDR is a compact straight arm advanced digital radiography system that features a floor-to-wall column and a rotatable arm with a variable height center which allows exposures of patients in standing, sitting, or laying positions. A motorized movement control and a continuously adjustable arm elevating movement together provide a source to image distance (SID) of 100-180 cm, a vertical movement of 120cm, an arm rotation angle of -30° to 120°, arm rotation angle of ±90°, and detector rotation of ±45°.

Optional features include manual control and a motorized touch screen display within a Bucky enclosure. The standard configuration includes the straight-arm stand, detector, interface controller, X-ray tube, collimator, and grid. An optional table configuration is available. The system features a 17 x 17” detector with a pixel resolution of 3072 x 3072, providing a large active area, high-resolution image quality, and smart exposure detection (SED) for superior image quality at all imaging views with an image cycle of just 10 seconds.
