Agfa-Gevaert NV’s (Mortsel, Belgium) board of directors has asked the management to study how the HealthCare IT activities can be organized into a stand-alone legal entity structure and organization within the Agfa-Gevaert Group.

The Agfa-Gevaert Group develops, manufactures and distributes a wide range of analogue and digital imaging systems and IT solutions, primarily for the printing industry and the healthcare sector, as well as for specific industrial applications.

The move to increase independence of the HealthCare IT activities will be in line with the Group’s continued transformation. The set-up would allow HealthCare IT to increase its focus on the large and attractive markets where it already has a presence. The main part of the Agfa-Gevaert Group, consisting of Agfa Graphics, Agfa Specialty Products and Agfa HealthCare’s Imaging business, will also be in a better position to pursue growth, profitability and new opportunities.
