Acquisition of Innovative VNA and Software Post-Processing Company Completed

Toshiba Medical Systems has announced that they have completed the acquisition of outstanding shares of Olea Medical SA.

The acquisition was made possible following approval by the French Ministry of Economy, and will help Toshiba Medical Systems (Otawara-shi, Tochigi-ken, Japan) grow its Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) business. Toshiba will leverage Olea Medical SA (La Ciotat, France) advanced post-processing and image analysis software technology, and it’s close contact with key international research institutions, and customers. Olea Medical also offers vendor-neutral post-processing software applications for use with Computed Tomography (CT) imaging.

Toshiba Medical Systems is a leading worldwide provider of medical diagnostic imaging systems and comprehensive medical solutions, including CT, X-Ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, MRI systems, and medical information systems. The acquisition will enable Toshiba to provide multimodality solutions, by integrating Olea software with Vital Images; Vitrea enterprise and scanner-connected workstation to improve collaboration standardize workflows, and improve diagnoses. Vital Images is also a subsidiary of Toshiba.
