A new mobile healthcare equipment manager, visualization, and boom system for hospitals and surgery centers has been revealed. The system is intended for use with mobile C-Arms in general surgery, urology, or interventional vascular and radiology image-guided hybrid Operating Rooms (OR).
The system features turn-key video integration and can be wheeled to the point of care providing high definition images to surgeons performing minimally-invasive surgeries using ultrasound, mobile fluoroscopy, and surgical video. The system also has shelves for equipment storage.
The system called NuCART is the mobile version of the CompView Medical (CVM; Beaverton, OR, USA) NuBOOM system.
Paul White, president of CVM, said, “The rapid adoption of integrated ORs will only be realized by a massive reduction in the cost of technology, and OR downtime due to construction. NuCART is an affordable alternative to retrofitting ORs with expensive built-in AV systems and ceiling-suspended booms costing hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
The device was launched at the 2015 United States AORN Surgical Conference and Expo (Denver, CO, USA).
