Low-Dose Molecular Breast Imaging (MBI) Could Improve Cancer Detection in Dense Breast Tissue

Two new research programs will aim to further develop low-dose molecular breast imaging (MBI) technology based on cadmium zinc telluride CZT-based SPECT (single-photon emission computed tomography) detector technology. CZT creates much clearer images and requires far lower radiation doses to do so, than comparable detectors, enabling the solution to deliver eight times less radiation than existing MBI technology. More...

New Brain PET Scanner Corrects Blurring in Images Caused by Body Motion

Ordinary brain PET (positron emission tomography) scanners are unable to accurately measure the distribution of radiopharmaceuticals in the brain if the patients move their head during the examination process. Now, a newly-developed brain PET scanner that corrects the blurring in PET images caused by body motion of the examined subject could solve this problem. More...

New 10-Minute CT Scan Detects and Cures Commonest Cause of High Blood Pressure

Researchers have demonstrated that by using a new type of CT scan to light up tiny nodules in a hormone gland and removing them, it is possible to cure Hypertension (high blood pressure). These nodules can be found in one-in-twenty people suffering from high blood pressure. More...

AI Tool Predicts Lung Cancer Risk from Low-Dose Chest CT Scans

Researchers have developed and tested an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that accurately predicts the risk of lung cancer for individuals with or without a significant smoking history based on analysis of low-dose chest computed tomography (LDCT) scans from patients. More...

AI-Based Biomarker Uses CT Scans to Predict Immunotherapy Response for Lung Cancer Patients

Researchers have discovered a new artificial intelligence (AI)-derived biomarker that uses routine imaging scans to help predict which patients with lung cancer will respond to immunotherapy. The findings not only offer guidance for patients and their physicians making treatment decisions, but can also curtail the financial burden associated with immunotherapy. More...

AI Predicts Risk of Lung Cancer Returning Using CT Scans

Artificial intelligence (AI) could help identify the risk of cancer returning in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients using CT scans, according to the latest results from a study. More...

AI-Driven Intraoperative CT Imaging System Sets New Standard in Lung Cancer Diagnostics

An AI-driven, intraoperative CT imaging system empowers bronchoscopists to biopsy from smaller, more difficult-to-access lung lesions at an earlier stage, thus maximizing the likelihood of an early diagnosis for lung cancer patients and improving odds for survival. More...
