InfiMed, Inc. (Liverpool, NY, USA) and Carestream Health, Inc. (Rochester, NY, USA) have signed a worldwide marketing agreement enabling InfiMed to immediately begin selling Carestream Health's new portable wireless detector as part of its unique image acquisition system.
Sales representatives from InfiMed will market its i5DR digital image acquisition system in combination with Carestream Health's wireless detector to both dealer and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers. Carestream Health's portable digital radiography (DR) detector quickly and cost-effectively upgrades analog X-ray rooms to digital capabilities without the need to replace existing hardware. The system's wireless capability enables faster patient throughput and increased productivity.
The i5DR features sophisticated image processing and integrated on-screen generator control. With a streamlined workflow and color touch screen controls, the system is optimized for faster patient throughput, flexibility, and increased usability.
In combination with Carestream Health's wireless detector, the i5DR system can be integrated into virtually any X-ray room, extending the lifetime of existing equipment, and provides a cost-effective solution for healthcare providers of all sizes. Commercial sale of the i5DR with Carestream Health's wireless digital detector is pending U.S. food and Drug Demonstration (FDA) 510(k) clearance.
InfiMed is a developer of digital medical acquisition, image processing, and sensor solutions. These systems are used in hospital cath labs, X-ray departments, imaging centers, and trauma centers worldwide. InfiMed also collaborates on a global scale with a wide range of OEMs and dealers, providing engineering and R&D resources for development and integration of leading-edge medical technology.
Carestream Health is a worldwide provider of dental and medical imaging systems and healthcare information technology (IT) solutions; molecular imaging systems for the life science research and drug discovery/development market segments; and X-ray film and digital X-ray products for the nondestructive testing market.
