A hospital in the Netherlands has awarded a long-term extension to an existing contract for an enterprise image management solution that includes a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA).
The VNA will be able to handle various types of medical images, and is intended to improve efficiency at the hospital by providing clinicians with a single access point for radiology and nuclear medicine images, and by simplifying the daily workflow.
The contract was signed between Alrijne Hospital (Leiden, Netherlands) and Sectra (Linköping, Sweden), an international medical imaging IT provider that develops and sells medical IT and secure communication products and services. Sectra’s enterprise image management portfolio includes a VNA solution for storing medical data, a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), an enterprise-wide viewer, and software intended to make the imaging workflow more efficient.
Alrijne Hospital is a merger of two Dutch hospitals. The new enterprise image management solution will enable the two merged hospitals to share medical images and patient information, and is intended to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and safety.
Martin Grob MHA, cluster manager, Alrijne Zorggroep, said, “We have been using Sectra’s solution for quite some time and, with 100% uptimes, it was an obvious choice to extend the contract with Sectra.”
