A new potentially more cost-effective angiography system with two dedicated C-arms, which can be used to perform cardiac and peripheral procedures in the same room, has been unveiled.

The new system can minimize imaging time, as well as provide improved access to the patient and a more efficient imaging workflow. The dual C-arms are moved around the patient and physicians to provide enhanced ergonomics.

The Toshiba America Medical Systems Infinix-i Dual Plane INFX-8000F (DP) angiography system also features Dose Tracking System (DTS), and Spot Fluoroscopy dose management tools to improve radiation safety.

The Infinix-i Dual Plane features two independent C-arms, one with a 12x16 inch Flat Panel Detector (FPD) for vascular or cardiac imaging, and another smaller 8x8-inch detector intended specifically for cardiac imaging. The system also features the ImagingRite advanced imaging applications and tools, including 2D Coronary Rotation, Quantitative Coronary Analysis (QCA), Vital TAVR Planning, 3D Multi-Modality Fusion, Dynamic Trace, and Stepping Digital Subtraction Angiography (S-DSA) for a wide variety of procedures. The Toshiba Dynamic Trace feature emphasizes blood vessels in images by reduces the effects of the bones, and enhancing background compression.

VP Marketing and Strategic Development at Toshiba America Medical Systems, Satrajit Misra, said, “The Infinix-i Dual Plane is designed to offer healthcare providers a versatile solution for performing cardiac and vascular procedures in the same room. The system can do both without sacrificing image quality, dose management capabilities or time spent away from the patient.”
