Floor-Mounted Digital Radiography System Provides Facilities with Path from Analog to Digital

A new multifunctional floor-mounted digital radiography (DR) system is designed for facilities ranging from private practices to larger hospitals, which seek an affordable growth path from analog to digital.

The DX-D 400 family of X-ray units is an affordable and versatile solution, which complements Agfa HealthCare's (Mortsel, Belgium) range of radiology solutions, offers every hospital and private practice the opportunity to go digital at its own pace.

Different configurations are possible, allowing DX-D 400 to be used with film, as well as with portable computed radiography (CR) or direct radiography (DR) detectors. For facilities wishing to minimize manual handling, CR and DR detectors can be completely integrated in a fully motorized DX-D 400 X-ray unit configuration. For CR, both powder phosphor and needle phosphor versions are available. For DR, one or two detectors with either gadolinium or cesium iodide technology can be used. DX-D 400 also provides connectivity with radiology information systems (RIS) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).

"We designed the DX-D 400 specifically to meet the budget needs of smaller facilities, private practices and emerging economies,” stated Dirk Debusscher, vice president Imaging at Agfa HealthCare. "But we had to do this without in any way reducing the very high image quality and productivity enhancements that are the hallmarks of the DX-D portfolio. We achieved this with the inclusion of our MUSICA2 gold-standard image processing software, our high-quality detectors for excellent image quality, and our NX platform, for a smooth workflow.”
