Breakthrough Wireless Handheld Ultrasound System Allows Clinicians to Diagnose Anytime, Anywhere
Posted on 16 Feb 2023
Portable ultrasound systems have been used in emergency medicine departments for years to expedite medical tasks. With the addition of a wireless application, these ultrasound systems can now be used to quickly scan patients right in their rooms. Wireless ultrasound systems are highly suitable and fast, providing a safe alternative to conventional ultrasound machines that require stringent sterile environments. Now, a new wireless handheld ultrasound system revolutionizes the use of ultrasound by fitting a complicated system into a small size device, while retaining its ability to meet higher clinical requirements.
Mindray (Shenzhen, China) has launched its first wireless handheld ultrasound system, the TE Air, which is designed to meet the demands for a higher-quality portable ultrasound device that is easy to use across diverse medical environments and delivers crisp point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) imaging. The TE Air is powered by Mindray's eWave platform and 2nd generation Single Crystal technology, allowing it to deliver high-quality images while consuming less power. It comes integrated with dedicated exam presets and comprehensive imaging modes, aiding clinicians in making efficient ultrasound examinations and accurate decision-making.
The TE Air has a wire-free design and is compact in size, allowing it to fit in the pocket, while offering high-level disinfection tolerance and flexible charging for extreme mobility. The TE Air empowers clinicians to overcome the challenges created by unanticipated mobile clinical scenarios. The unique Air Capsule acts as a protective case as well as a portable wireless charger that keeps the device running all day and requires just 35 minutes to fast charge the device. Its IP68-level waterproof and dustproof design makes the device fully immersible for high-level disinfection and ideal for hospital infection control.
The TE Air App, available for Android and iOS, enables one-handed operation in any location for simplicity and efficiency. The TE Air can be connected to advanced devices such as the Mindray TEX20 Ultrasound System, allowing healthcare providers to overcome the challenges of lengthy cords and tight areas while enjoying premium functions. It can also be seamlessly integrated with hospital information systems to help improve workflow. Additionally, the de-identified data that is collected during examinations can be saved and shared for teaching, training, consultation, and case sharing.
"Built from Mindray's leading technologies, the TE Air has made a historic breakthrough in the image quality level of handheld ultrasound, integrating professional-level image quality into a small and light wireless system," said Xujin He, General Manager of the Medical Imaging System Business Unit at Mindray. "Its premium performance and wireless portability allow clinicians to diagnose anytime and anywhere with confidence."
