Miniaturized Ultrasound Device Facilitates POC Diagnosis

A lightweight ultrasound system can be taken anywhere, from a patient's bedside to first response at a car accident.

The Fujifilm SonoSite (Bothell, WA, USA) iViz portable ultrasound system combines a seven-inch high-resolution display, proprietary imaging technology, and a range of four transducers that enable clinicians to view superficial ultrasound applications such as ophthalmic, arterial, venous, lung, and nerve tissues, as well as deeper applications such as for abdominal and obstetric needs. The iViz is manufactured using aircraft aluminum with beveled edges to protect the display and device from fluid ingress.


In addition to high-resolution (HD) two-dimensional (2D) imaging, the system also supports M-Mode and Color Velocity Doppler, proprietary SonoHD2 Imaging, and SonoADAPT tissue optimization software. iViz integrates with hospital information systems (HIS) and electronic medical records (EMRs) to attain patient demographics and submit reports, and connects securely with cloud services for sharing studies with remote providers for near-time assessments. Data transfer is available via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, with additional interface ports for USB, HDMI, and audio.

The system is available with two P21v phased array 5MHz transducers, the all-new SonoSite L25v transducer that offers superior 2D image quality with new exam presets, and the SonoSite C60v transducer, which is available for deeper abdominal, pulmonary, and obstetric applications. The C60v also features DirectClear Technology, which elevates transducer performance by improving penetration and contrast resolution. All transducers are drop-tested to 75 centimeters and are IPX-7 rated, making them fully submergible in water and approved disinfectants.
