The S-MSK ultrasound tool, developed by SonoSite, Inc. (Bothell, WA, USA), provides concise imaging of superficial and deep targets for a quick assessment and guidance of interventional procedures such as injections and aspirations of the knee, shoulder, elbow and other joints in the body. The S-MSK ultrasound tool is packaged in an innovative design that can be carried, mounted on a pole, or fixed on a wall or ceiling for zero footprint, and withstands being dropped one meter onto a hard surface.
Based on SonoSite's M-Turbo platform, the S-MSK ultrasound tool, provides connectivity for digital image export in a rugged, easy to use design. On-board flash memory can retain data for 20 standard examinations, and three universal serial bus (USB) slots allow direct sharing of images and video clips to a personal computer (PC) or Mac computer. Similar to the other S Series ultrasound tools recently introduced by SonoSite, the S-MSK device is very easy to disinfect, with a design that minimizes fluid ingress to allow easy decontamination. It is backed by SonoSite's five-year warranty.
SonoSite's small, lightweight systems are expanding the use of ultrasound across the clinical spectrum by cost-effectively bringing high performance ultrasound to the point of patient care.
