A new clinical image-review display system has been developed for the rapidly growing medical facilities field.

The Philips Healthcare (Best, The Netherlands) clinical review display comes with light-emitting diode (LED) technology and offers healthcare professionals consistent performance. The monitor with white body and streamlined design is equipped with antimicrobial additive in its housing material to suppress growth of most common microorganisms. This function can be selected with a simple-to-use on-screen display, namely SmartImage Clinic, allowing the user a simple transition from DICOM clinical imaging to a customized setting more comfortable for viewing administrative tasks.

Optimized pixel management technologies give a 178/178 degree extra-wide viewing angle, resulting in consistent, crisp images even in 90-degree pivot mode, suitable for clinical settings where clarity is always crucial.

The display reduces safety concerns by employing special medical grade power supplies, complying with the EN/IEC 60601-1 standard that ensures basic safety and essential performance, and the EN/IEC 60601-2 collateral standard for medical grade electromagnetic compatibility. Drug-resistant germs are a growing menace for medical professionals worldwide. The new Philips display tackles the challenge by using JIS Z2801-compliant antimicrobial additive in its housing material. It is proven to inhibit growth of most common microorganisms such as Escherichia coli and pneumonia. The display also comes with EPEAT Gold certification, attesting it is good for the environment by using at least 30% post-consumer resin in its casing.

As the Philips clinical review display helps the clinician take care of patients, it also takes care of the user. The SmartErgoBase allows it to be adjusted for maximum viewing comfort by tilting, swiveling, and rotating the screen. The low bezel-to-table height means it can be lowered to almost desk level—a suitable solution for those who use bifocals, trifocals, or progressive lens spectacles.
