Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium) launched its new 12-X CR system at ECR 2013. The system provides a cost-effective way for small clinics and private practices to benefit from the advantages of digital radiography. The tabletop system allows the customer to configure the workflow as needed, and makes no concessions in image quality.

With the new clever and simple design, the CR 12-X can be adjusted by the user to meet the specific need for high image quality and workflow. The user can select the default speed and resolution desired, and can also adjust this setting for any exam, resulting in a customer-chosen optimal workflow.
The system small size makes it also suitable for mobile applications. The design can withstand harsh environments and temperature changes. Easy to maintain and use, it offers a lower total cost of ownership. Excellent network capabilities allow seamless integration with the clinic’s environment.
The CR 12-X provides excellent image quality, offering a choice of high-resolution scanning/plate options up to 60 plates an hour. Like all of Agfa HealthCare’s CR solutions, it comes with Agfa HealthCare’s gold-standard Musica² image processing software and NX workstation. Musica² analyzes each image and automatically applies the appropriate image enhancement parameters independent of the exam type, whereas the NX workstation provides very fast image acquisition and a smooth workflow. This versatile solution can handle general radiography, chiropractic, orthopedic, and full leg/full spine (FLFS) applications. The CR 12-X can be combined with Agfa HealthCare’s Drystar 5302 imager or its SE Suite software to provide a complete softcopy or hardcopy CR solution at an affordable price.
“The CR 12-X is further proof of our commitment to ensuring that all healthcare facilities—from the largest to the smallest—can benefit from the advantages of digital radiography,” noted Dirk Debusscher, vice president at Agfa HealthCare. “It answers the customer’s need for a configurable workflow, with a cost-effective, versatile design.”
