With a weight of only 3.3 kg and a cable length of 5 m, the portable wired detector of a new mobile digital X-ray system provides all the needed flexibility and freedom of movement required in a mobile X-ray system.

Moreover, due to a simple click-on/click-off mechanism, the cable can be connected and disconnected quickly and simply. With a resolution of more than seven million pixels, the detector provides excellent image quality that can be compared to high-resolution stationary X-ray systems.

At the European Congress of Radiology 2012, held March 2012 in Vienna (Austria), Siemens Healthcare (Erlangen, Germany) introduced a more cost-effective, wired-detector version of the Mobilett Mira mobile digital X-ray system. All other technical features of the system, such as the rotating swivel arm and the excellent image resolution, are identical to the existing wireless high-end model in the product line. With the new Mobilett Mira, Siemens supplements its product range of digital X-ray systems in the mid-range price segment as part of the global Siemens Healthcare initiative Agenda 2013.

Siemens has developed this new system for customers who have a limited budget, yet still require sophisticated digital technology in a mobile X-ray system. Similar to its high-end counterpart, the new Mobilett Mira model includes a digital imaging system with very short exposure times, a rotating swivel arm, and a remote monitoring option.

Launched in November 2011, Agenda 2013 is a two-year global initiative to further strengthen the Healthcare Sector's innovative power and competitiveness. Specific measures will be implemented in four fields of action: innovation, competitiveness, regional footprint, and people development.
