A new, more efficient 1.5 T cardiac MRI imaging scanner has been launched for global sales.

The system improves the quality and efficiency of routine cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations by acquiring high-resolution images using a wide-bore system in a wide scan range.

The 1.5 T Vantage Titan/cS Edition scanner was developed by Toshiba Medical Systems (Otawara, Tochigi-ken, Japan) with the aim of providing advanced examinations and improving patient comfort with user-friendly technologies.

The Vantage Titan Complete Clinical Solution (cS) Edition scanner includes a number of new technologies including a "New Sequence Design Environment" that allows the user to change parameters with diverse pulse control, for example the Flow Sensitive Black Blood (FSBB) sequence. Another improvement enables more detailed rendering of narrowing blood vessels, and support for the Multi b-value. The system also includes next-generation assisted positioning for difficult scans, EasyTech advanced scanning plane positioning assistance, EasyTech Cardiac with CardioLine+, and SUREVOI Cardiac to facilitate whole CMR examinations. EasyTech Cardiac technology can reduce the operating time from 43% of CMR examination time, to 9%.

Another clinical application supported by the new scanner is Ultrashort TE (UTE) that can eliminate radiation exposure in lung field MRI exams. The Vitrea system can be used with the Vantage Titan for post processing, IVIM analysis can be used to visualize intracellular perfusion in Diffusion-Weighted Imaging (DWI), and Wall Motion Tracking (WMT).
