A leading imaging equipment manufacturer has implemented software, and hardware upgrades, to improve the performance and workflow for 3-T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems, in clinical and research settings.

The upgrades were showcased at the annual International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) meeting in Toronto (Canada), May 30 to June 5, 2015.

The upgrades include enhancements for increased performance and image stability, fMRI (functional MRI), noise reduction, Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), isotropic imaging for high-quality Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR), 3-D post-processing, arterial spin labeling for improved visualization of cerebral vascular circulation, several new multi-purpose coils for an improved signal-to-noise ratio, and a more user-friendly power interface.

Toshiba America Medical Systems (Tustin, CA, USA) is providing the upgrades for new or existing customers who use Vantage Titan 3-Tesla MRI systems.

Guy Poloni, director, MR Business Unit, Toshiba, said, “These software enhancements were designed for customers in both the clinical and research space, highlighting image quality without hindering workflow. These upgrades make Toshiba a strong contender in the high-end 3T MR market.”
