Imix Americas, Inc. (Sterling, VA, USA) and Novarad Corp. (American Fork, UT, USA) have partnered to provide Imix digital radiography systems integrated with Novarad's NovaPACS (picture archiving and communications system) to imaging facilities throughout Latin America. This agreement includes all Imix product configurations, equipped with Novarad's Novaview telemedicine system, to be deployed through Novarad's Latin American distribution network. Imix's DRxpress with NovaPACS is particularly suited to the challenges faced by facilities in remote regions. DRxpress has a durable manual mechanism, is cost-effective and simple to implement, and requires minimal maintenance without compromising functionality. NovaPACS is Novarad's turnkey PACS, offering fast image retrieval, and full-feature viewer with intuitive interface. These capabilities are imperative in difficult to access regions that lack on-site radiologists and have limited funds.
"This rugged, low-maintenance radiography/telemedicine system can improve quality of life throughout Latin America. Imix and Novarad are the manufacturers delivering digital imaging solutions optimized for these conditions," said Paul Shumway, vice president at Novarad. "Our partnership with Imix allows us to provide quality, turnkey DR [digital radiography] solutions to all our markets."
"This collaboration provides new fuel for fulfilling our commitment to serving Latin America," said Imix Americas CEO Rick Sbordone. "After successfully working with Novarad in North America, we can together deliver advanced imaging solutions to regions in Latin America that have been underserved."
Imix Americas provides integrated digital radiography (DR) systems that cost-effectively deliver high image quality and efficient workflow. Imix's fully interoperable products include charged coupled device (CCD) detectors, and bucky-mounted, tethered, and wireless cassette thin film transistor (TFT) detectors for applications that require a thinner profile and positioning flexibility. Imix manufactures positioning devices, stands, tables, generators, and software, fully integrated with its detector technology. Imix systems are US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared and configured, staged, and tested in Imix facilities.
Novarad fills the niche of providing a full range of affordable PACS, radiology information systems (RIS), orthopedic, cardio, and mammography systems, DR and peripherals to hospitals, clinics, and imaging centers.
