The DirectView CR 975 digital medical imaging system recently earned a prestigious 2006 "Best in Klas” award in the computed radiography (CR) market segment from Klas Enterprises (Orem, UT, USA), Kodak's Health Group (Rochester, NY, USA) recently announced.

Klas Enterprises provides vendor performance ratings for a wide range of healthcare technologies. The Best in Klas awards are the result of thousands of interviews with healthcare facilities that rate their technology vendors in 40 indicators such as proactive service and on-time implementation.

The CR 975 system is part of Kodak's wide range of digital medical imaging devices. The system combines image quality enhancements with excellent throughput made possible by its ability to handle 16 cassettes at a time. It provides noise suppression that enhances visualization of anatomy in low-contrast areas while preserving diagnostic detail. Its novel design features reliable, rigid cassettes combined with an internal central processing unit (CPU) and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to prevent downtime during network or power outages.
