Using next-generation technology, a new ultrasound system upgrade provides the image quality needed to render a fast, accurate diagnosis--limiting the number of patients who are referred for more serious procedures, testing, and follow up.Posted on 09 Aug 2006
Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. (Tustin, CA, USA) recently announced the availability of a new upgrade for its Nemio ultrasound system. "We are constantly advancing our ultrasound technologies and the next generation Nemio XG provides cutting-edge benefits for both doctors and patients,” said Gordon Parhar, director, Ultrasound Business Unit, Toshiba. "This technology, with its increased clinical applications and improved image quality, will allow many patients to receive a diagnosis in just one doctor visit, rather than receiving an ultrasound and then possibly a second test, like an MRI [magnetic resonance imaging]. The level of diagnostic confidence is increased significantly by the Nemio XG.”
The next-generation Nemio XG features enhancements from Toshiba's Xario ultrasound system, designed to expand diagnostic capabilities and improve clinical insight. The technology features include: ADF (Advanced Dynamic Flow), a more sensitive color Doppler and more detailed images for faster, more accurate diagnosis; QuickScan, with optimized two-dimensional (2D) images with the touch of a button; and ApliPure, a faster image acquisition and greater clarity.
These developments increase system utility and provide sharp, precise images that improve visualization of the smallest details. Furthermore, with complete network connectivity, clinicians can speed information delivery and expedite a higher quality of patient care. "Ultimately, we want to make everything easier for our customers' patients,” Mr. Parhar said. "The Nemio XG will offer more information in less time, which is a sizable patient benefit.”
