Receipt of ISO certification and an upgraded Class I Measurement CE Mark has been announced by Vital Images, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN, USA). The ISO Standard is a model for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation, and servicing. The CE Mark will allow the company to distribute its products within the European Community.

Vital Images is a provider of 3-D imaging software for use in clinical diagnosis, surgical planning, and disease-screening applications. The company's technology utilizes high-speed volume visualization and analysis, as well as network communications based on DICOM and Internet protocols. Company products are sold to healthcare providers and manufacturers of diagnostic imaging equipment in international markets through independent resellers.

"The upgraded CE Mark certification will allow continued expansion of our sales and marketing efforts in Europe through the introduction of new products and features for disease screening, clinical diagnosis, and treatment planning, all important potential growth areas for the company,” said Albert Emola, president and CEO of Vital Images.
