The Intelligent CR Co. (Torrance, CA, USA) has acquired the assets of Radiographic Digital Imaging, a supplier of digital imaging products based on storage phosphor technology and film digitizers. Among the acquired assets are the CR1 and Cobrascan film digitizer product family. The CR1 is a US Food and Drug Association- (FDA)-cleared computed radiography device capable of reading storage phosphor imaging plates ranging in size up to 14 x 17 inches in one minute or less.

iCRco will continue to develop, sell, install, and service the CR1 as part of the iCR product range. "The combining of the CR system and the film digitizer creates the first cost-effective total digital solution for conventional radiography exams. Emerging automatic digitizing of previous film base studies and CR examinations in the x-ray room with one system dramatically improves workflow and significantly reduces both capital and operational costs,” said Steve Haas, vice president of sales and marketing.
