GE and Critikon Finalize Merger Agreement

GE Medical Systems Information Technologies (Milwaukee, WI. USA) and Critikon (Tampa, FL, USA) have finalized an agreement to merge their operations. According to the agreement, Critikon will operate under the name GE Medical Systems Information Technologies and maintain its operations in the United States and Mexico. The merger expands on the global alliance formed between Critikon and GE in December 1999 to jointly develop and distribute their technologies. The two companies were able to complete technology integration and create a global distribution network. Critikon is a provider of subacute patient monitoring, noninvasive blood pressure technology and blood pressure cuffs. GE Medical Systems Information Technologies offers cardiology, patient monitoring, image management, and enterprise-wide clinical information systems and performance management services.
Michael Genau, previously executive vice president and general manager of Critikon, has been named global general manager, subacute systems, GE Medical Systems Information Technologies. "Together, our technologies create an information management solution that provides caregivers with real-time access to vital signs from anywhere in the hospital,” said Genau.
