A laser printer is intended for high-resolution printing of medical images, and uses photothermographic (dry laser) print heads that require minimal maintenance.

The printer can be used for printing from Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance (MR), and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) viewers, and other grayscale medical film applications to radiographic film for referring physicians.

The DryView 5700 printer is manufactured by Carestream (Rochester, NY, USA) uses Automatic Image Quality Control (AIQC) technology and a built-in densitometer to detect image quality and make adjustments to ensure consistent film output quality.

The printer has a footprint of 66 cm x 61 cm, weighs 54 kg, uses a 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet connection, and can print film sizes from 20 cm x 25 cm to 35 cm x 43 cm. The printer also features an Integrated DICOM interface that supports printing from DICOM print modalities. Non-DICOM modalities can be connected using PACS Link Medical Image Managers. The printer does not require daily or weekly preventive maintenance.
