Web-Based PACS Mobile Viewer provides Access to Radiologic Images Anywhere, Anytime

A web-based picture archiving and communication system (PACS) viewer is nearly browser-independent, and provides viewing of radiologic images on mobile terminal units at locations other than clinics or practices. Medical personnel can access all image material via the system from anywhere worldwide using a network connection.

With the new dicomPACS MobileView 1.6 viewer, developed by OR Technology (Rostock, Germany), the user can now not only view and (temporarily) evaluate images, but also capture and export diagnostic evaluations. Furthermore, it allows documents to be attached, unsigned diagnostic assessments to be edited by the owner, and documents to be exchanged. Image display is similar to the diagnostic evaluation explorer of the viewer, always displaying all the diagnostic reports of a patient. For export purposes, individual diagnostic assessments of a patient may be chosen and provided in a formatted version.
