A new partnership has been established to help imaging picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) users overcome problems related to importing and storing patients’ earlier exams.

Intelerad Medical Systems (Montreal, Canada), a developer of medical imaging picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), radiology information systems (RIS), and workflow solutions, has initiated a collaboration that will provide its global customer base with the OneDX Patient CD Upload solution, developed by the New Medical Product Server (Stratford, CT, USA).

Designed to overcome the challenges associated with importing foreign exams, the solution provides users with an intuitive interface that enables them to rapidly upload patient images from a compact disc, modify Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) headers, and then transfer the images to IntelePACS. This provides optimized effectiveness while ensuring that imported studies are correctly merged with existing patient records and made readily available to physicians.

“At Intelerad, we are always looking for ways to improve the user experience,” said Chris Henri, chief technology officer, Intelerad. “By including the OneDX solution in our portfolio, we’re able to provide the user with a streamlined way to import and localize foreign exams that will help them operate more efficiently. This is particularly true for large practices which typically import images from dozens of discs per day and often have staff dedicated to the task.”

The OneDX solution will be available to IntelePACS customers in June 2014.
