Clinical Image Displays Offers Powerful Management Tools with Consistent Image Quality

A new 24-inch clinical image display has been designed to provide healthcare specialists with consistent image quality and healthcare informational technology (IT) professionals with powerful management tools for centrally controlling their clinical display range.

“As the healthcare industry moves toward a more collaborative care model—with medical professionals sharing and viewing images and patient data across disciplines and hospitals—enterprise-wide coherent image quality has become a major prerequisite. Barco’s [Kortrijk, Belgium] Eonis family provides specialists with consistent, crisp, and high-quality images, as a solid basis for confident image viewing,” commented Stephane Willaert, VP strategic marketing healthcare IT. “In addition, to comply with increasingly stringent disinfection guidelines, the white Eonis models come with a toughened front glass panel to allow thorough cleaning, even with 70% alcohol cleaning agents.”

To safeguard image consistency across hospitals and departments, Barco’s Eonis clinical displays are equipped with a unique front-of-screen consistency sensor that automatically aligns image quality every time the display is switched on. This allows healthcare specialists to consult with remote colleagues efficiently and confidently, knowing that everyone is seeing identical images.

Moreover, the new 24-inch screen can be put in portrait orientation, providing specialists with more flexibility when viewing skeletal radiography images or patient lists. Because the 24-inch screen size is suitable for displaying electronic medical record (EMR) data, Eonis is valued by users of hospital-wide EMR systems. Additionally, with 1,920 x 1,200 screen resolution, Eonis 24-inch is perfect for viewing high-detail images.

Eonis displays come with Barco’s MediCal QAWeb online service for quality assurance and remote asset management. The service provides automated quality assurance checks and detailed reports, and it has shown its value in hospitals worldwide. The service makes it simple for IT staff to centrally and remotely manage and configure displays across the healthcare organization.

Eonis displays are specifically designed for use in hospital settings. The displays feature a smart cable management system, external power supplies, and multiple mounting options and connections for arm, cart, or wall mount solutions. To help ensure infection control, the white Eonis models are fully cleanable, front and back, with typical alcohol-based cleaning agents.
