A new web-based picture archiving and communications system (PACS) provides sophisticated streaming technology that retrieves images much faster than current technologies. Posted on 17 Dec 2012
Attendees at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting, held November 2012 in Chicago (IL, USA), saw the advantages of EvoView Ultima, Del Medical’s (Harrison, NY, USA) latest addition to their PACS range of products. EvoView Ultima PACS are feature-rich, web-based, and cloud-enabled for on-site hospital and busy clinic environments. A novel feature of Ultima PACS is the ability to retrieve images up to 10 times faster than other leading PACS systems currently available. “By using the latest in streaming technology, access to patient images has never been faster or easier,” said Marc Lorenzo, vice president of digital imaging for Del Medical.
In addition to the traditional set of image enhancement tools common to other PACS product range, EvoView Ultima PACS Systems feature customizable reading protocols, MPR/three-dimensional (3D) visualization, reporting and more. EvoView Ultima PACS also utilizes a Smart Fetch technology allowing it to load images of interest while other images download in the background. “Having features such as these right out of the box and at an affordable price point makes EvoView Ultima PACS very attractive to a broad sector of the healthcare imaging community,” Mr. Lorenzo added.
EvoView Ultima PACS can be tailored to the requirements of a facility or can be chosen from two standard configurations: EvoView Ultima PACS Lite, suitable for imaging centers or clinics with medium imaging volume, and EvoView Ultima PACS Plus, which is well suited for higher volume and more challenging imaging setting. Each system offers users’ fast web-based diagnostic access, CD/DVD burning, scanning, printing, and reporting from any workstation or terminal. The server-side of Ultima PACS solutions automates function such as image and report distribution, HL7 [Health Level 7] integration, and long-term storage archiving.
