Siemens Healthcare (Erlangen, Germany) has developed a new information source for anyone faced with undergoing an X-ray or a nuclear medicine examination. At the site (please see Related Links below), medical journalists and Siemens experts provide patients and interested members of the general public with basic details regarding medical radiation--including the basics of the physics involved, an introduction to imaging procedures and notes on minimizing radiation exposure. A glossary explains the most common technical terms in a concise, readily comprehensible manner.
Siemens also launched a Low Dose Information Center (please see Related Links below) for physicians and clinical personnel to provide thorough information and further education offerings on dose reduction.
Initiated by Siemens Healthcare sector in November 2011, Agenda 2013 is a two-year global initiative to strengthen additionally the healthcare sector’s innovative power and competitiveness.
