New software is a certified complete electronic health record (HER) designed for radiologists who wish to qualify for US Medicare and Medicaid’s Meaningful Use (MU) Incentive programs. Posted on 08 Dec 2011
Integrated into the RamSoft (Toronto, Canada) PowerServer radiology information system/picture archiving and communication system (RIS/PACS) and Tele Plus products, it provides many new features to make MU data collection simple. PowerServer 5.1 includes integrations to an e-prescribing solution for allergy and prescription management and Microsoft (Redmond, WA, USA) HealthVault so patient data can be shared with patients within days of their appointments.
All MU data fields are available from the patient registration screen so data can be collected at the first point of entry and accessible any time it requires review. The system is able to collect data on patient problems, immunizations, lab results, and even schedule patient reminders. Additionally, our system can maintain data on race/ethnicity, smoking status, and language.
Microsoft HealthVault is an online repository where people can store and organize their healthcare data and share it with authorized caregivers. PowerServer 5.1 transfers all patient data to Microsoft HealthVault so patients can access the same reports their referring physicians receive. Providing patients with access to their electronic medical records when and where it is needed is an important aspect of the Meaningful Use and PowerServer 5.1 satisfies this requirement with only a simple click in the patient record.
Emergency Access gives reading physicians with the ability to provide temporary access to a fellow radiologist for the purposes of secondary assessment and consultation. Customized email templates can be created that automatically send a link with temporary access to a patient study.
Microsoft HealthVault offers a central repository for health information that individuals can gather from across the spectrum of healthcare. The HealthVault platform supports a growing ecosystem of connected, user-friendly applications, so individuals can keep a comprehensive, up-to-date record of their health information in a place where they can view and share it with whomever they choose.
