A worklist color-coding feature has been developed for radiology information system (RIS) Web-based workflow application that supports radiology groups and teleradiology firms reading studies for multiple client facilities. The new feature enables radiologists to track at a glance reading priorities and study turnaround times required for exams for multiple facilities.

"Teleradiology firms and others that read exams for multiple sites have a large number of ever-evolving deadlines that can be difficult to track,” said Christie Hentschl, vice president of marketing and sales for RIS Concepts (Miami, FL, USA), the developer of the system. "Now, RIS Concepts' flexible color coding feature enables radiologists to categorize and recognize reading priorities quickly and easily.”

Ms. Hentschl noted that this is just one of a broad range of carefully designed features in the RAD-RIS solution that help radiology businesses meet the unique demands of offsite reading for multiple clients with diverse and changing demands. RIS Concepts is the developer and marketer of the RIS technology. The Web-based system provides a range of innovative features to support streamlined workflow.

The RCI product range consists of flagship enterprise RCI-RIS, a browser-based multifacility application that supports a comprehensive range of advanced RIS features such as real-time scheduling, dictation, transcription, patient demographics, document scanning, and billing. RCI-RIS also offers a proprietary Health Level 7 (HL7) engine, providing economic and efficient integration with other healthcare information technology (IT) applications.

Also available is the new RAD-RIS, an advanced Web-based workflow application customized for the unique needs of radiology groups reading studies for multiple client facilities. It creates an innovative integrated worklist combining studies across multiple enterprises and locations, while simultaneously interfacing picture archiving and communication system (PACS) solutions in use at different hospital and clinics. It also features a client billing component, providing radiology groups with a complete business solution.
