A range of software applications provides a comprehensive archiving and distribution solution--with integral viewing functionality--for managing image data in a computed radiography (CR) environment. Designed to help make the transition to digital imaging, its flexibility, feature-rich functionality and scalability enables the user to improve diagnostic confidence, manage rapidly increasing information volumes, and increase efficiency and productivity at a cost-effective price. Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium), a leading provider of information technology- (IT)-enabled clinical and diagnostic imaging solutions, presented its SE suite of image data management software at RSNA 2008, held in Chicago from November 30 through December 4, 2008.
The SE Suite comprises three modules to support a broad range of applications: SE Server, SE Client, and SE Standalone. This modular approach makes it possible to tailor the solution to the users' needs, with performance and storage capacity determined by the choice of hardware. As SE runs on standard hardware, it enables optimizing investment in current hardware.
The flexibility and scalability of the SE suite makes it suitable for private practices, small imaging centers, orthopedic, chiropractic, and veterinary practices and imaging clinics and supports single and multi-user environments. "SE complements digital acquisition systems by providing the tools to store, manipulate, manage, and digitally output acquired images-- for both CR and other modalities,” stated Dirk Pieters, global business manager small practices.
