With healthcare delivery becoming increasingly complicated, a new solution helps hospitals and clinics of all sizes increase productivity by efficiently managing study orders, patient appointments, and resources in a real time, web-based application. The new scheduling software system provides increased resource efficiency at a very low time-to-schedule.

Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium), a leading provider of information technology- (IT)-enabled clinical and diagnostic imaging solutions, announced that it will present its web-based enterprise scheduling and planning solution, Impax Scheduling, will at RSNA (Radiological Society of North America) 2008. The exhibition will be held in Chicago, IL, USA, from November 30 to December 5, 2008.

Utilizing the Impax Scheduling module, radiology departments can expand their reach by offering the simplified order placement and appointment scheduling directly into the referring physician's offices. Agfa HealthCare's Impax Scheduling solution offers a simple and intuitive user interface and is highly configurable by user as well as medical specialty. This enables the solution's optimization for each clinical discipline, allowing different workflows to be incorporated. A rule-based logic tool built within the scheduling and order placement applications helps to reduce scheduler errors and the number of clicks required to complete a task.
