Samsung Electronics (Suwon, Korea) showcased its latest diagnostic imaging medical equipment at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2022 that took place onsite in Vienna on July 13-17. This year’s industry expo had more than 26,000m2 of space filled with the latest tech & services in imaging from the industry’s biggest names, including Samsung.

At ECR 2022, Samsung offered live scanning demonstrations of its latest advanced ultrasound diagnostic systems, including the new V7 ultrasound system that is versatile, rich in features and comes with a variety of tools for diverse and challenging cases. “V” stands for “Versatile,” meaning that the advanced functions dedicated to specific departments such as obstetrics, radiology, orthopedics and cardiology have been incorporated in these premium ultrasound systems.

Also on display was the new HM70 EVO hand-carried ultrasound system designed to support a diverse range of applications and patients. The system has streamlined workflow, durability, and high resolution imaging that can be used in a variety of clinical situations. Samsung also offered live scanning demonstrations of its latest V8 ultrasound system that combines exquisite imaging quality powered by Crystal Architecture with efficient, streamlined examination enabled by Intelligent Assist tools, and reengineered workflow to fulfill the needs of today's busy clinical environment.

Additionally, Samsung highlighted the state-of-the-art OmniTom Elite 16-slice mobile CT scanner from its subsidiary, NeuroLogica Corp, that recently received 510(k) clearance for the addition of Photon Counting Detector (PCD) technology. The OmniTom Elite has the ability to provide versatile, real-time mobile imaging to administer point-of-care CT to critical patients without the need to transport them to a separate imaging department. The mobile unit decreases the time it takes to diagnose and initiate treatment for critical patients.
