After almost three years of waiting, Canon Medical Systems Europe BV (The Netherlands) finally returned to the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna during the very first on-site summer edition to showcase its latest imaging innovations.

Canon attended the on-site ECR 2022 where it showcased one of the three types of its mobile imaging solutions, the CT City Hopper that is designed with user and patient experience in mind. With expandable sides, a patient staircase and elevator for easy access, the flexible unit can be placed close to a clinic or hospital and only needs an hour to be set up after arriving at location. Canon demonstrated its Aplio a-series of ultrasound systems featuring Aplio's new iBeam+ technology for a whole new level of diagnostic precision and imaging capability.

Canon introduced its new range of MR solutions that are built with intelligent cutting-edge workflow and image-processing technologies to accelerate scans, improve diagnostic confidence and patient comfort, and deliver outstanding efficiencies across the entire business. Visitors at Canon’s stunning booth at ECR 2022 got a closer view of Alphenix 4D CT system that allows users to switch easily between CT and angiography systems in order to diagnose, treat or verify, alongside the Alphenix, the world’s first 12×16 inches True Hi-Def Detector for interventional radiology.

Also on display at the event were Canon’s Aquilion ONE / PRISM Edition 640 slice premium CT scanner with further AI improvements; the Mobirex i9 mobile X-ray system with a very compact design, small footprint and extendable and retractable telescopic arm; and Trauma DR Plus, a dedicated and unique digital radiography solution for trauma departments and emergency rooms that can be maneuvered around the patient quickly and easily. In addition, Canon introduced Altivity, its new AI innovation brand that consolidates machine learning and deep learning technologies to deliver uncompromised quality and value across the entire care pathway. The Canon medical area at ECR 2022 also offered multiple stage presentations from various speakers and key opinion leaders from all over Europe.

"Our Made for Life philosophy drives and compels us to continuously improve and innovate ways to help our customers and partners and their patients," said Mr. Takiguchi-san, President and CEO of Canon Medical Systems Corporation. "It is important to us to share those innovations with the ESR members and visitors and to participate in the education and information transfer around new, emerging technologies and solutions, so those innovations can be recognized, understood, accepted, and ultimately integrated into patient care pathways."
